Full speaker Bio
Course Description:
Startups are built on dreams, but to convert dreams into reality, you need to know how to give memorable presentations at conferences, to the media, and, of course, to investors. Author-consultant Shel Israel has coached entrepreneurs on how to present for over 30 years. As a journalist, he has also reviewed hundreds of speakers at conferences. In recent years, he has also become a popular speaker himself. In Stellar Presentations, Israel's 4th book, the author uses his storytelling talents to share his experiences on presentation strategy and tactics and he does it in highly entertaining fashion.
In his talk, Israel will tell you why Steve Jobs was such a great speaker and why you should not try to imitate him; the three questions you need to ask before every public talk; why storytelling beats Powerpoint; the importance of the "Tell-me-more" strategy and on top of that--he reveals the Secret of Cantaloupe.
In the second part of the seminar, attendees will help Israel review several live presentations given by local entrepreneurs, and develop hands-on experience in stellar presentations.
After the seminar, Israel will be available to sign copies of his book, Stellar Presentations. While a few copies will be available for sale for $10 at the seminar (cash or check only), attendees are encouraged to purchase the book in advance.
