Unify says acquisition helped it cut its loss

Sacramento Bee:  Unify Corp., the Roseville-based maker of business software, on Tuesday reported a net loss of $858,000, or 8 cents a share, in its first quarter ended July 31.That was an improvement from a loss of $2.2 million, or 27 cents a share, in the year-ago quarter.

Sacramento Business Journal:  Unify Corp. reported a first-quarter loss of $858,000 on revenue of $9.9 million, compared to a $2.2 million loss on revenue of $4.5 million a year ago.

Elk Grove chamber names executive director

Sacramento Business Journal:  Angela Perry will take over Wednesday as executive director of the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce. Perry, who joined the chamber in 2008, replaces retired Elk Grove Community Services District general manager Rita Velasquez.

Propel Fuels gets grants for 75 stations

Sacramento Business Journal:  Two Sacramento-area companies have made arguably the most-coveted business list in the country — the Inc. 500. Vista Imaging Services of El Dorado Hills finished at No. 105, while Vital Networks of Sacramento ranked No. 492.
