We are a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation founded in 2001, and focused on a nine-county region of Butte, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Solano, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba counties.

Accelerate technology ventures, by providing robust and respected hands-on support directly to companies, entrepreneurs, and founders to grow the pipeline of successful companies and increase the quality of the companies in that pipeline.
Celebrate the tech company successes, to raise the profile of the tech sector and create greater awareness of its impact.
Build the region's tech community, by effectively linking people and companies to each other and building critical mass in the network.
Inform about the tech sector, with a set of publications that collectively create a robust profile of the tech sector's impact.
Champion the importance of the tech sector, especially by focusing on the Next Economy's top priority of fostering a strong regional innovation environment.
SARTA Programs - How We Get It Done
AgStart is SARTA’s newest industry-cluster-focused program, promoting innovative sustainable agricultural technology and supporting companies that are bringing thoseproducts to market. AgStart leverages the Sacramento region’s vital, and long-standing, role in agriculture for California, the United States, and the world.
CleanStart is an initiative of SARTA designed to accelerate the development of clean technology ventures within the greater Sacramento region. Our mission is to empower entrepreneurs with the knowledge, capital and connections that are critical to creating a successful new business.
MedStart strives to build a thriving bioscience industry in our region and its mission is to catalyze that growth. MedStart functions as the hub in building a strong network of the many resources in our community and is a repository of information and expertise for Greater Sacramento’s vital bioscience sector. Healthcare is destined to become safer, more effective, less costly and more accessible, through technology, and the MedStart community is well positioned to prosper in pursuit of that big opportunity.
TechStart supports companies in areas like mobile apps, video games, social networks, software platforms, tech hardware & equipment, IT services & consulting, between others. The program is aimed to generate a strong and successful ecosystem.
SARTA is committed to engaging members and the regional tech community in quality educational programming. This series of seminars is designed to provide local technology, non technology companies and emerging entrepreneurs with strategic workforce development training. Each session is approximately 3 hours in length and is held at our partner locations across the region. SARTA recruits speakers and panelists from the private sector who have many years of expertise in subject of each seminar.
VentureStart prepares high growth/high technology entrepreneurs and early stage companies in the Sacramento region to be investor-ready for Angel and VC financing by providing free, comprehensive, and expert mentorship.
SARTA’s by-invitation peer-to-peer networking groups supporting confidential discussions among C-level technology executives.
A regional industry/university technology center that will serve as a catalyst to accelerate the growth of developing technology companies.
SARTA is directed by a board of 30+ regional leaders of academic institutions, investment groups, business associations and technology corporations that seek to foster technology innovation and growth in the nine county greater Sacramento region.
