Sacramento Entrepreneurship Academy

For twenty-six years, SEA has provided a real-world education program for students with entrepreneurial aspirations.  The “nuts and bolts” approach is designed to prepare participants for business ownership, help them avoid common pitfalls, and gain confidence in business settings.  (if there is enough room please add this last sentence) SEA is supported by local entrepreneurs who share their expertise and experiences and provide financial support to the Academy.  website

The UC Davis Child Family Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Child Family Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship integrates science and business for social benefit. We bring together researchers in science and engineering with MBA students, faculty, experienced entrepreneurs, investors and corporate leaders to support technology transfer and commercialization activities. Our programs help researchers build the networks, knowledge and tools to communicate the value of their work, explore commercialization strategies, connect with industry partners, and design research programs that align with practical applications. Our  programs would be impossible without the support of a generous network of corporations, foundations, venture capitalists, angel investors, entrepreneurs, lawyers, bankers and public agencies. Center For Entrepreneurship, Sacramento State

Center for Entrepreneurship in the College of Business Administration (CBA) is to develop a platform for entrepreneurial accomplishment by nurturing innovative business ideas and to capitalize potential entrepreneurial opportunities both from CSUS and local entrepreneurship communities.  The main business model of Center for Entrepreneurship is to provide a new venture incubator for venture communities in the region. Also, the Center develops entrepreneurship curriculum and programs for region’s entrepreneurs. website

Global Center for Social Entrepreneurship, University of the Paciific

The Global Center provides hands-on learning opportunities for aspiring student social entrepreneurs who want to do good and do well.  Our programs consist of internships locally and nationally, mentorships, action research, and a recently launched innovative incubator lab to take enterprising youth initiatives from passion to action. website

Center For Small Business

Center for Small Business provides free management assistance to small business operating in and around the Sacramento area. Consulting services are provided in virtually all facets of business except for taxation, law, and loan packaging. Each year the Center works with approximately 100 small-business owners to help solve management problems. website

Sacramento Angels

The Sacramento Angels is an active and engaged group of accredited investors who provide capital to early stage companies, focusing primarily in Northern California.  In addition, the Sacramento Angels actively supports entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial centric organizations and graduate level business education in the Sacramento region through mentorship, advisory board participation, instruction and guidance. The Federal Technology Center

The Federal Technology Center (The FTC) is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit corporation designated by the Department of Defense as the California Statewide Procurement Technical Assistance Center.  The FTC’s goal is to improve the state’s economy by helping the small businesses in 54 of California’s 58 counties successfully compete for federal, state, and local government contracts.   The FTC accomplishes this goal by providing free classes and free counseling to businesses on any aspect of contracting with the government. website

Metro Pulse Business Retention and Expansion Program

Brief Description –  METRO PULSE IS THE INTERNATIONAL-AWARD WINNING REGIONAL BUSINESS RETENTION & EXPANSION program designed to provide local businesses with the information and resources to grow and succeed. This community-based program brings together economic development agencies and companies throughout the region. Together they help companies identify barriers and then seek solutions for the survival and growth of local business and sustainability and expansion of the region 's economy. website

Northeastern California Small Business Development Center

Northeastern California Small Business Development Center – Greater Sacramento/Sierra at Los Rios Community College District, offers one stop business management assistance through one-on-one business consulting, entrepreneur training, referrals and a wide variety of information and guidance to all small business owners and potential entrepreneurs in El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, Sierra and South Yolo counties. website
